Jenn Dela Cruz (she/they/siya) is the founder of and therapist at Diwa Therapy PLLC, a mental health private practice based in Seattle and provides telehealth sessions for folks throughout Washington state.

Diwa Therapy offers psychotherapy for individuals ages 13 and up, highlighting folks who would like support in navigating complex and/or acute trauma, childhood abuse & neglect, family of origin, gender-based violence (domestic violence, intimate partner violence, physical/sexual assault), secondary trauma/burnout/moral injury from doing frontline work, major life transitions, grief & loss, identity exploring, the Filipinx/Asian-American diasporic experience, and impacts of systemic and institutional barriers.

A person is a fluid process, not a fixed and static entity; a flowing river of change, not a block of solid material; a continually changing constellation of potentialities, not a fixed quantity of traits.

Understanding your Mental health care costs:
Good Faith Estimate Disclaimer for Psychotherapy Services
Under the No Surprises Act

At Diwa Therapy, we are committed to providing our clients with transparent, understandable, and upfront information about the costs associated with their mental health care. In alignment with our values and compliance with the No Surprises Act, we offer a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) of anticipated charges for our psychotherapy services.

Key Aspects of Your Good Faith Estimate:

  • Purpose of the GFE: The Good Faith Estimate is designed to give you a clear understanding of the expected costs for the psychotherapy services you are considering. This estimate is based on information available at the time it is issued and aims to help you make informed decisions about your care.

  • Validity and Scope: The GFE is valid for 12 months from the date it is provided and includes an estimate of charges for the services discussed during your initial consultation or therapy planning session. Please note, the scope of therapy may evolve, and unforeseen circumstances may arise, potentially impacting the final cost of your care.

  • Insurance and Payment: If you have health insurance, your actual out-of-pocket expenses may differ from the GFE based on your specific insurance benefits, deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance. We encourage you to directly contact your insurance provider for a detailed understanding of your coverage for mental health services.

  • Not a Contract: Receiving a GFE does not obligate you to proceed with therapy services from our practice. It is provided as a resource to assist you in planning for the cost of your mental health care.

  • Your Rights Under the No Surprises Act: The No Surprises Act offers protections against unexpected medical bills. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy.

  • Questions or Concerns: We understand that navigating healthcare costs can be complex. If you have any questions about your Good Faith Estimate or need further clarification on the costs associated with your psychotherapy services, please do not hesitate to contact us.

This Good Faith Estimate disclaimer is part of our commitment to ensuring that you feel supported and informed throughout your mental health care journey. Transparency in healthcare costs is crucial, and we are here to help you understand and manage the financial aspects of your therapy.
